Dear friends and colleagues,

SAVE THE DATE: IEIDCXIII to be held in Utsunomiya, Japan from 23rd to 27th October 2028

On behalf of the International Committee (IC), it gives me great pleasure to announce that the 13th International Equine Infectious Disease Conference (IEIDCXIII) will be held as an in-person event in the vibrant city of Utsunomiya, Japan, from 23 October to 27 October 2028. The IC are indebted to the Japan Racing Association (JRA) for offering to host IEIDCXIII and we look forward to working with them in delivering what will be an excellent conference.

The format will be similar to recent editions, consisting of four days of scientific sessions, with plenary, oral and poster presentations, and an accompanying practitioners’ programme and trade stands showcasing our generous sponsors. There will be ample opportunity for everyone to reconnect and network with friends and colleagues from around the world and discuss the latest developments and all our shared interests in equine infectious diseases.

The conference venue and accommodation details will be announced in due course, with a range of options expected to be available close to the meeting facilities and the Call for Abstracts and further conference information will be released during 2027.

We look forward to welcoming you to Japan for what promises to be an exciting and memorable IEIDC meeting.

With all best wishes

Dr Richard Newton
Chair: International Organising Committee

Deauville is situated in the Calvaldos department of Normandy in north west France. It is famed for its long flat sandy beaches where strings of polo ponies can be seen at exercise. The equine focus continues with the Deauville la Touques and Clairefontaine racecourses and beautiful surrounding countryside, which is is home to numerous Thoroughbred stud farms. As a result, the town is twinned with Lexington, Kentucky and County Kildare, Ireland. Yearling Thoroughbred yearling horse sales and races are held throughout the summer, in addition to polo competitions. The harbour, marinas, Grand Casino and prestigious hotels complete the attractive location.

Deauville is reached by train, which takes 2 hours from Paris St Lazare station. International flights to Paris land at Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) and transport links between the airport and station take about 30 minutes.
